Irregular shaped, about 3/4 inch, laceration on front of lower left leg, caused by jamming into corner of open dishwasher door, took course of antibiotics about one week after the incident, course of antibiotics completed, wound has not healed. Applied antibiotic ointment throughout. Antibiotics stopped two days ago, wound appears to expand, tiny bumps forming around it.
A day ago I had an accident and was injured slightly. There was a tear through my sock and a wound underneath. According to medical terms it is a Laceration. I cleaned the area with antiseptic and washed it. Then I applied Hydroheal ( Hydrogel Wound Dressing with Colloidal Silver) and covered it with a sticky gauge, then normal gauge and then finally a crepe bandage. I did this because similar treatment was done before too when I had a similar wound in the hospital. Is covering okay?
My wife had a craniotomy and the fluid around the incision site never went away. after a few months the fluid became infected and started to drain. Subsequent trips to the hospital didn't cure her.and she is taking antibiotics and on Xarelto. She also had a detriment procedure and the fluid came back after a few weeks. The neurosurgeon that preformed the surgery sent her home and told us to just keep the open would clean.
Spinal surgery with plate screwed to base of skull, rods and screws from c1 to c 6 ,four years ago and continues to drain. When scabs drop off ,draining continues. I'm a diebetic patient. Patient allowed scab to remain now scab is the size of a kidney bean. Physician doesn't know the reason for this problem and has referred me to wound center.
Have been battling this since July. The sore itself has gotten smaller however, the tunnel that developed is deeper. He has been getting bed rest but how much is required and is there something else that could be done to stop the deepening before it reaches the bone? He is a paraplegic.
I have been to the emergency, been on antibiotics for over a week now and it seems worse. The doctor that did this surgery in Fort Lauderdale said it was for cancer. Its hurting me and its discolored purple and numb what should I do?
My husband had surgery (skin from his neck transplanted to his head after a basal cancer op). The wound is still a bit runny after 3 months (though the area is reducing in circumference). We eat a lot of tropical fruits such as, mango, papaya and kiwi. Could this affect the scabbing and healing?
Our dog bumped into my leg and peeled surface of skin, the wound got larger and scabbed with redness and tightness around the wound. Subsequently the dog bumped into my leg again knocking the scab off/underneath was a deep hole and oozing. The swelling is worse and the redness is more present, while I receive sharp piercing pains from this wound going up the leg and hard form me to be on my feet because my foot swells so bad I am diabetic and have had heart surgeries.
