Will EVLT help with leg swelling?

Other than some bulging and pain, my main problem regarding my veins is my feet and ankle swelling. I have been diagnosed with veinous insufficiency. Will EVLT help the swelling?

Not all swelling is necessarily related to the venous insufficiency. I always inform my patients that if the swelling is related to this it should improve. There is no way to give a definitive answer. In some people, it could be lymphatic.

Yes, it will help resolve swelling. In addition to the procedure you might need to use compression socks for several weeks to help the process.

Venous insufficiency is one cause of swelling, so treating this is done with the hope of improving the edema.

It is always difficult to guarantee that foot and ankle swelling will improve after an EVLT procedure. If you have superficial venous reflux, then the swelling may improve after treatment but if you have deep venous reflux, the swelling most likely will not improve. Swelling is certainly a sign of venous insufficiency but could be due to many other factors.
